    Autumn Pumpkin Card Set

Autumn may have started just a couple of days ago, but pumpkin season has been in full swing at my house since the beginning of the month. And since I like pumpkin season to last as long as possible, I thought it would be fun to create a pumpkin card set perfect for Fall, Halloween, and even Thanksgiving.

Start by trimming several panels of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to 4″ x 5.25″. Then, stamp a layered pumpkin image in different colored inks on the left side of each panel using a stamp positioner.

Stamp the pumpkin image once more onto some masking paper or a Post-It note and trim it out closely with scissors. I’ll be using the mask to create a fun background for each of my four panels with different techniques. For this card, I masked off the yellow pumpkin and stamped leafy acorn images all over the background in a very light brown ink, then blended the same ink around the edges lightly with a blending brush.

For a different look, I masked off one of the orange pumpkins and placed a grid stencil over top. Then, I blended light brown ink over the bottom of the panel and light blue ink over the top with a blending brush to create a textured kind of atmosphere around my gourd.

Greyish-blue pumpkins are some of my favorites at the farmer’s market in the fall! For this panel, I masked off the pumpkin and stamped a sweater-knit pattern over the top in light blue ink for a cozy feel, then blended the same ink around the edges with a blending brush.

I saved the last orange pumpkin for a Halloween scene. First, I blended some yellow ink onto the panel in the top-right corner and then placed a small circle of masking paper over the top. Once my pumpkin was masked off, I blended black ink below the pumpkin and several shades of dark blue and purple ink over the rest of the panel to create a nighttime scene.

I chose a bunch of pretty fall colors of Basis Cardstock (trimmed to 4.25″ x 5.5″) and some coordinating foil cardstock colors (trimmed to 4.125″ x 5.375″) to create two mat layers for each pumpkin panel. (Colors shown are Basis Black, Silver Bright Foil, Basis Navy, Rose Gold Foil, Basis Brown, Gold Bright Foil, Basis Dark Red, and Gold Bright Foil cardstock.)

For each card, I stamped different Fall, Halloween, and Thanksgiving sentiments either directly on the pumpkin panel or in Versamark ink on a scrap of Basis Cardstock to match the mat layer I was using and embossed them in metallic colors.

The yellow pumpkin and acorn background screamed autumn to me, so I stamped a fun fall sentiment in dark red ink and added Gold Bright Foil and Dark Red Basis Cardstock mat layers.

Subtle blues and browns on this panel reminded me of Thanksgiving, so I added a thankful sentiment in copper embossing powder and matted it with Rose Gold Foil and Navy Basis Cardstock.

The blue knitted background panel fit this cute autumn greeting perfectly, so I stamped it in brown ink and added Gold Bright Foil and Brown Basis Cardstock mat layers.

Black and silver are perfect for Halloween cards, so I embossed a spooky greeting with silver embossing powder and matted it with Silver Bright Foil and Black Basis cardstock.

All of the card fronts were adhered to a white A2-sized card base with tape runner to complete the card set. I haven’t decided if I’ll give these away to a friend to use throughout the season or keep them to send myself!

I hope you enjoyed this autumn card set project and thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to visit the CutCardStock store to purchase any of the supplies showcased today, and if you liked this project, please leave a comment below! What’s your favorite color pumpkin?
