'Tis the season. I'm sure we are all busy with holiday festivities and preparations. I've been busy creating Christmas cards this week. I love to include lots of shimmer and sparkle in my Christmas cards. So I used Curious Metallic Cardstock, Stardream Metallic Cardstock, POW Glitter Paper to create these cards.
I used layering dies from Birch Press Designs for the Snowflake image on the front of the card. I layered three different die-cuts for the circle and snowflake image. I started with Stardream Metallic Ruby and cut out the bottom layer from that cardstock.
Then I die-cut the other layers using Pow Glitter Paper in Silver and Curious Metallics in Ice Silver.
I used Tombow Mono Liquid Glue to adhere all the layers together and to attach everything to the card base. I like using liquid glue. It gives you a little time to move the layers around and get everything lined up correctly. From the image below, you can see how I added tiny dots of glue all over each die-cut.
For the Joy sentiment, I used the background die to cut out Pow Glitter Paper in Silver, and the word die to cut out Stardream Metallic Ruby. I adhered both to a piece of adhesive backed fun foam.
Since I had the middle section leftover, I created snowflake ornaments. I'm planning to include those in some of the cards I send.
After finishing that card, I started pulling out different papers that shine and sparkle. I came up with these variations. The red glitter paper is Mirrisparkle Glitter Red, and the blue paper is Stardream Metallic Sapphire.
If you need to add some shimmer and shine to your cardstock collection, now is the time. Check out all the great products on sales this month over at CutCardStock.com. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.
