Happy Thanksgiving to you! I hope you’re having a day filled with food, friends, family, and fun! For today’s installment of the Holiday Countdown Series here at the CutCardstock blog, I decided to jump on the contemporary bandwagon and create these rose gold holiday swag tags.

I love to make cards for friends and family during the holidays. If the truth be told, though, I make many more tags than cards. Today's project is pretty easy to mass produce once you have amassed a pile of the little pine sprigs.

The first thing you want to do is cut your tags. I used a simple 4.5-inch tag die and cut six of them: three from White Royal Sundance Felt Cardstock, and three from Natural Royal Sundance Felt Cardstock. Then, punch a hole through the top of each tag for the ribbon.

Set aside the natural colored tags, since they are the lower layer. We’re going to be working on the white ones. To create a frame that doesn’t take away from the handiwork, make some embossed lines about 5/8-inch from each edge with a scoring board.

To cut the pine sprigs, I used a die called Pine Needle Wreath (Simon Says Stamp). That super shiny rose gold tone? It comes from Bazzill Rose Gold Foil Cardstock, and I tell ya, it’s GORGEOUS. Run the die through a few times with the foil cardstock to cut a bunch of pieces for the tags (I did four passes). Pick out three sprigs and trim them a little to make an extended branch piece for the top of each swag.

Building these is so much fun! Start at the bottom of where you want your swag to be. Dip each sprig in a little bit of glue, and stagger the placement left and right as you create the shape.

When you get to the top, add the trimmed sprig. While that’s drying, tie a knot in a small length of ribbon (I used a brown organza ribbon) and flag the ends. Adhere that to the top of the swag with a tiny glue dot, then decorate with your favorite adhesive gems and pearls!

To finish up, stack your white tag on top of your natural colored one, and loop a length of ribbon through both to hold them together. You’re ready to wrap!

Thank you so much for stopping by on such a busy day - come back tomorrow to check out Day 5 in our Holiday Countdown Series!
