Gnomebody Like You Card, Masking Tutorial

Hi everyone!
My name is Kim Wilson and I am a guest designer for CutCardstock.com and elated to be here!
I have a super fun project to share with you today so lets get started...

Here's what you will need for this project:

A Gnome stamp set- I used my Wilson Designs, Gnomebody Like You set
Brown Bag Kraft A2 folded card base from CutCardstock.com
White cardstock from CutCardstock.com
Green cardstock from CutCardstock.com
Copic Markers
Black stamp ink
Glue Pen
White Flocking powder
Glossy Accents
Post-It note or thin paper
Glue Arts Foam dimensional tape
Glue roller
Scissors
(Optional: cutting knife)

  • Starting with your A2 card base, stamp sentiment near the top of the card.
  • Set aside to dry.
  • Stamp gnome onto white cardstock, let dry.
  • Stamp grass pattern onto green cardstock.
  • Color gnome using Copic markers and fussy cut it out.
  • Add glue to his beard using the glue pen and quickly add the flocking powder, tap off excess and set gnome aside.
  • Stamp mushroom pile using the masking technique below:
Stamp bottom row of mushrooms onto white cardstock (6) and then one extra mushroom on a Post-It note.
Cut out the mushroom from the Post-It note and use it to cover the first mushroom you stamped.
Stamp a second row of mushrooms (5) in a brick pattern, one at a time while covering the bottom mushrooms with the Post-It note to keep from duplicating lines.
Continue the mushroom pile while using less mushrooms for each level. (3,4,5,6)
  • After mushrooms are all stamped and you have rows of 3, 4, 5, and 6, color and shade
mushrooms with your Copic markers.
  • Fussy cut around the mushrooms and if you cant get to the small areas you can use a fine cutting knife.
  • Using the Glossy Accents, make the mushrooms dimensional and set aside to dry.
  • Cut out your grass, you can use the cutting knife if you cant scissor cut the small areas.
  • Add foam adhesive strips to the backside of the grass.
  • Add foam adhesive to the back of your gnome.
  • Hopefully at this point your mushrooms will be dry and glossy, if not check again in a few minutes.
  • After they are dry glue them down onto your card base using your glue roller.
  • Add your gnome and grass trim.
Voila! A high quality and dimensional card thats sure to bring a smile to anyone!
